The more Dickens you've seen the better perhaps but i've only seen
Bleak House, Scrooge and
The Old Curiosity Shop and know of characters like Fagin from general knowledge.
Once you've watched a few episodes you won't bother what they are from as you'll be too busy enjoying it all. At least i am.
