Amuck!

Barbera Bouchet plays Greta who is the new secretary of Novelist Richard Stuart, played by Farley Granger. Greta has a secret agenda, she's looking into the disappearance of her lover Sally who was Richard's previous secretary. Greta soon discovers Richard and his wife Elanora played by Rosalba Neri are into kinky sex games. There is also a hulking fisherman with a limited IQ and a habit of perving through windows who also raises suspicions. Pretty soon Greta is being roped into the sexy antics of the couple and begins to realise they may be trying to kill her.
Amuck! is a kinky, entertaining giallo. Obviously the gorgeous Barbera Bouchet is a big draw for Giallo fans. She's on top form here and sheds her clothing fairly regularly. The plot is actually quite suspenseful and the ending is great. The 88 films release looks great here and considering its not especially expensive its probably worth picking up.

Seven deaths in the cats eye

A rich, Gothic Giallo with Jane Birkin who heads to a remote Scottish castle and gets embroiled in a series of murders. The film is a terrific thriller with a rich Gothic atmosphere directed by Antonio Marghereti who is great at these sort of films, even though he got quickly tired of them. Its full of secret passages, family curses, mouldering crypts and a bit of sexual intrigue. It even throws an ape into the mix. Pretty much a guy in the suit and the only really dumb thing in an otherwise solid picture. The killings are not excessively gory but with a film like this it's not that important. Marghereti's gothic pictures were rarely that extreme anyway and here its all about the atmosphere and family dynamic.
