Isle of dogs
To echo NOS, I thought this was great. Like most Wes Anderson films its fairly clear he made this to amuse himself but I've often said that self-indulgence isn't necessarily a great criticism, especially when dealing with Indie directors like Anderson. The animation is excellent, bringing to life the various characters. Especially good is the way they have created the human characters who mostly speak unsubtitled Japanese. It's to the credit of everyone involved that in spite of the language barrier you get the gist of what they are saying. The soundtrack, which uses Japanese drum playing is guaranteed to stick in your head when you leave the theatre.
