All Hallows' Eve (2013)
The wraparound of this low-budget horror anthology is good, and so is its last segment, which is a precursor to director Damien Leone's solid slasher follow-up Terrifier. However, aside from some effective moments, the first two stories fall flat - they're pointless, as they go nowhere. Overall, it's worth a watch, as its positives outweigh its negatives.
*** out of ***** The Devil's Candy (2015)
Sean Byrne's very good, but not quite as good, heavy metal inspired follow-up to his excellent debut feature The Loved Ones.
***1/2 out of ***** The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
The greatest Dracula (yes, even more so than Bela Lugosi) Christopher Lee plays Frankenstein's monster, but not as good as the greatest Frankenstein's monster - Boris Karloff.
**** out of ***** Amityville II: The Possession (1982)
The only entry in this series worth bothering with. It's a highly underrated haunted house possession supernatural horror, which should be judged as a singular work away from the stinky franchise it's unfortunately a part of. Immensely creepy, twitchy, and sleazy stuff.
