It does take a while for the relationships between various cast members, whether it's House and Cuddy, Chase and Cameron, 'Thirteen' and House, or House and Wilson to fully develop and become as interesting as the cases the diagnostic team try and solve, so it is probably around the fourth and fifth season when the show hit its peak.
That said, I love the season with David Morse (the third?), and the sixth, which is set in a mental institution.
I've recently been watching the sixth season of
24, a show I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with because of how it seemingly advocates torture and, as with
Homeland, negatively portrays Muslims. Apart from that, it's extremely entertaining and extremely well acted. The construction of each of the episodes within the day-long series arc seems to work really well and it's interesting to watch this for the first time since its broadcast release.
