I bought the 60th Anniversary D-Day Edition DVD for the princely sum of £1 from Music Magpie because I didn't own it at all and hadn't seen it since the first cinema run! I didn't want to potentially spend 30 quid on a film which (on my one and only viewing) seemed a bit dull at times and with clichéd characters.
I thought the best World War II film of that year was Terrence Malick's
The Thin Red Line, but maybe my opinion will change with time and repeated viewings of each.
