I'm not sure why, but I watched it expecting something slightly cheaper and a bit cheesy, probably similar to the
Killjoy films, so was surprised by how nasty the titular character was and how brutal the gore effects and attacks were.
I agree with Baka that a stronger and more resourceful protagonist would have improved the film, but I'll probably watch it again next October if not before.
