Low budget but very stylish, the scenes of rape are very harrowing but the retribution less so, aside from a penis being sliced off in close up that is.
However i do think that in this case the visuals offer more than a well trodden story line, for a low budget film it's superbly shot and boasts an excellent soundtrack too. Credit too for Ashley C. Williams who gives a fine performance as the title character. Where the film differs slightly from the norm is the fact that Julia gets help in her revenge from a sinister group, in fact so sinister they may even be of Occult origin, it certainly seemed that way. |
Gonna have to find a copy of this sounds really interesting and a different take of this sub genre.
