I loved Gravity at the cinema and when I've seen it at home – it's one of the few films which really benefited from a 3-D presentation (Avatar was another) and has quite exceptional sound design and music, and the use of CGI never fails to impress.
I didn't like Steven Soderbergh's Solaris when I first saw it, but it's grown on me over the years and I may actually prefer it to Tarkovsky's version. They are very different films because of how they have adapted the source material. |
Might give Alien a rewatch tonight. It's years since i last saw it. When i say years i don't mean a couple, i mean fifteen perhaps more. I know i've only watched my dvd the one time.
Thinking aloud. I did buy it again as part of a mint condition Alien Quadrilogy set last year from a charity shop for a quid. Wonder where that is?
Which version is recommended? Theatrical cut (116 mins) or directors cut (111 minutes)
