Great British Railway Journeys.
Michael Portillo is in the industrial north west this week. He visited Blackburn Empire Theatre with a BFI restorer and looked at a lot of Edwardian era films from the Blackburn area that the BFI have restored beautifully. it was very interesting and i never knew film history was so close to home.
He then visited the Clarion club in Roughlee which is very close to home and somewhere i often walk past with Milli. Not sure why he went there because there isn't a railway for miles around.

But it was quite amusing seeing a Tory in a pink jacket chatting to a large group of old school socialists.
They got on splendidly.
