I bought the House MD box set last year and I only got around to watching the first series, just picked it up again from the 1st episode of season 2, I was only slightly confused by who one particular character was but picked it up pretty quickly (House's solicitor ex-wife now wroking for the hospital). Great fun, he really is a miserable bastard
