Kill Bill’s Vivica A. Fox is a badass. She is always absolutely fierce in her roles and she just seems like one of those people that sort of embodies the very meaning of cool. That’s why its pretty interesting to report that she is playing a large role in the upcoming Night of the Living Dead remake.

This is a situation where we have to take the bad with the good. The bad news is that, once again Night of the Living Dead is being remade. But, the silver lining on that is that Fox will play the role of Ben. Both Duane Jones and Tony Todd have played the iconic role that flipped the systems of class and race on their head.

Fox will once again flip the expectation coming at it from not only a strong African American but also a strong female African American. Again, I just want reiterate that she always manages to bring something really cool to the roles she plays, and I’m sure that she will do the same here with Ben.

Do we really need another Night of the Living Dead remake? George Romero’s original was a game changer. The Tom Savini directed 1990 Night of the Living dead was good too. It brought a lot of gore to the picture and really clearly respected Romero’s source material.

And then there was the mess that followed. Night of the Living Dead 3D, Night of the Living Dead: Genesis… the list goes on and on. So, I share in your hesitancy, but I’ll at least take the fact that they are going to bring Fox into the whole thing.

Christopher Ray directs Fox in this iteration and the whole thing will follow this provided synopsis.

“A worldwide event where the dead awake and roam the earth as zombies, a small group of human survivors struggle to stay alive and fight off the wandering-zombies who are intent on eating them and turning them into the walking dead.”

So, we will just have to wait till 2021 to see how this one turns out. Below you can find the sales art, that is clearly not going to be the finished product.
