Nothing wrong with odd sequel etc like a trilogy eg omen, but when they’re just milking the franchise for sake of it  . |
Some sequels are better than their predecessors: The Bride of Frankenstein; Toy Story 2 (and Toy Story 3); The Godfather Part II; The Dark Knight; Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan; The Bourne Supremacy; Batman Returns; The Road Warrior.
I think other sequels can be more entertaining than the first film, with Terminator 2, Aliens, and Friday the 13th Part 2 as the obvious examples.
