Phantom Of 42nd Street. 1945.

A theater critic and a police Lt. team up to investigate the death of a stage actor during a performance.

This was a decent film apart from some daft dialogue and the actors try to make it better in this murder mystery thriller that does leave you scratching your head as to who was the killer. Dave O'Brien plays critic Tony Woolrich who is reluctantly forced to look into what happened and Jack Mulhall plays Lt. Walsh who hates the idea of a critic investigating and with no clues joins forces. Kay Aldridge plays the daughter of the actor who may be next in the line of fire and tries to help with the mysterious figure in the back. There is some comedy in this but not side splitting mere more smirk and a grin but enjoyable enough for 58 minutes.
