Just to finish off.

It's in later years that Oscar has felt the need to dish out the best picture award to 'worthy' films.

Take 2013 - Was 12 Years a Slave really better than Captain Phillips, Gravity or The Wolf of Wall Street?

I would say Wolf is by far the more popular and loved film.

2015 - Spotlight. Seriously? Better than The Revenant and Mad Max Fury Road. Definitely not but it's certainly more worthy.

Nos mentioned The Shape of Water. Certainly it's original so i'll give it that but Dunkirk was also nominated.
