I've really enjoyed some of the original films from the Blumhouse studio, particularly Whiplash, Oculus, Get Out, The Invisible Man, and Us. I thought Split was good and liked Happy Death Day, the Purge films, and Ma, though I have been less impressed by their sequels and remakes (Black Christmas, Halloween), so I'll approach this with some caution.
There is one sentence in the article which was jarring: "This new trilogy also marks the first time Ellen Burstyn will play the role of Chris MacNeil in the original movie."
I guess they mean that it marks the first time Ellen Burstyn will play the role of Chris MacNeil
since the original movie, which is notable.
