The Sword and the Sorcerer. 1982.
A mercenary with a three bladed sword teams with a princess to foil the plans of a evil tyrant.
How come Albert Pyun makes a movie with very little budget and is able to pull of something decent, Lee Horsley plays our sword wielding hero Talon who is the rightful king of the land but that spot has been taken over by evil Cromwell played by favourite antagonist Richard Lynch who used black magic to get what he wants. Brother and sister Alana and Mikah played by Kathleen Bellar and Simon MacCorkindale seek the help of the rightful ruler and Mikah somewhat narrates over the story.
The writing is a bit tacky but early 80s work with some sarcastic comments that can cause a smirk and some plot holes either badly written or badly edited, for Pyun's directorial debut i'd say he done a decent job with this and incorporated the medieval background score in at the right places.
