The first film is almost a prequel and not remotely like any of the others. Australia quickly became an untamed wasteland following that first film which was pretty much set in a normal world.
When it comes down to it there are only four films and it'd have to go some to not be better than
Beyond Thunderdome which is merely alright.
It's never going to be better than
Mad Max 2 which has 40 years of love behind it.
