Rushed in to production while
JAWS was still enjoying it's blockbuster run.
For me,
JAWS is still a stand alone movie but this sequel is well worth a visit. There are some very good scenes here, such as the attack on the water skier, the boy dragged along the water and hitting the boat, the girl swallowed whole as she rescues Sean and the shock moment of the burnt body in the surf. The young cast in the boats are believeble in the peril that faces them out in the water.
Behind the scenes things did not go too well especially with Roy Scheider who really did not want to make this movie and even came to blows with director Jeannot Szwarc.
So it's an enjoyable sequel in a time where sequels to movies were not really the thing and for me offers some nostalgia of the time and an unforgetable movie poster.
