Backlash 2023: Who won what!
SPOILER:
- In the opening singles match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship, Bianca Belair defeated Iyo Sky by pinfall to retain the title
- In a Singles match, Seth 'Freakin' Rollins defeated Omos (with MVP) by pinfall
- In a triple threat match for the WWE United States Championship, Austin Theory defeated Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed when he got a pinfall over Reed to retain the title
- In a singles match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship, Rhea Ripley defeated Zelina Vega by pinfall to retain the title
- In the only 'gimmick' match of the evening, Bad Bunny defeated Damian Priest by pinfall to win a 'San Juan Street Fight', which was effectively the same as a normal street fight...except it was being held in San Juan! There were a lot of 'run-ins' during this bout - Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor came to aid of Priest, while Bunny ended up with Rey Mysterio and the returning Carlito (who has been out of the WWE since January 2021) and Savio Vega (making his first appearance since the 2020 'Survivor Series' PPV)
- The penultimate match of the evening was a Six-man tag team match which saw The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso) defeat Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn when Sikoa gained a pinfall over Riddle
- The main event was a Singles match where Cody Rhodes defeated Brock Lesnar by pinfall
The general consensus is that this was a fantastic PPV, with one of the best crowds in a long time and some well thought out and booked matches. Don't be surprised if the WWE makes regular return trips to Puerto Rico to future events
The next WWE PPV is due to be 'Night Of Champion', which is going to be held on May 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
