Nowadays, I find myself unable to watch certain things involving animals that somehow didn't seem to bother me when I was a kid. Probably because I was not aware that they were real... Horse tripping is one of them. Please forgive me if I already wrote this elsewhere in the forum, but when I was a kid I already found the elephant scene of the Stewart Granger version of
King Solomon's Mines very sad. A few years ago I found that the scene is real (i.e. they killed the elephant just for the movie) and the other elephants gathering around the killed elephant, trying to get him to stand is just heartbreaking. I simply can't watch it.
So, in conclusion (lol sorry), the "censored" version of
Conan is fine by me, too. Maybe even preferred.
