Aftermath (1994)
Set in a morgue, Aftermath depicts what happens when one twisted mortician let's his necrophiliac desires get the better of him when the corpse of a beautiful car crash victim is wheeled in front of him. What follows isn't the least bit erotic but it is disturbing in it's sterility and the matter of fact way the mortician mutilates, fondles and ultimately ****s the corpse laid out before him following a methodical autopsy.
It's all shown so matter of factly with great attention to detail, even in the cleaning up and washing down the equipment and you come away from the film realising that such acts, although sickening, are so easy to carry out in the right environment.
Nacho Cerda's half hour film is a hauntingly beautiful, gripping foray into the dark underbelly of horror with perfect synchronicity in it's use of lighting, music, sound effects and cinematography, in fact it's a technically brilliant piece of film making even if it's subject is a little on the sordid side.
