Over the past month or so you may have noticed that the posts on this thread have dwindled slightly and to be perfectly honest so has my obsession with zombies. Bigfoot took over, then I went all Pixar-y, so I kind of went of 'zombies' a bit. Hard to believe, I know. Perhaps that wasn't helped by the amount of awfully shitty zombie films I watched in one week - and that's an understatement. The Zombie Chronicles - the first zombie film I couldn't make it through - it's just THAT shitty.

BUT, thanks to a good friend of mine, I have JUST finished watching a film, a film that has restored by zombie passion/obsession. Good thing? Bad thing? You decide. And that film goes by the name of THE VIDEO DEAD (1987) It is quite simply one of the best, and shamefully obscure, zombie films. This was the first time I saw it and thought it was an absolute blast - similar to Return of the Living Dead with it's extremely 80s feel. Not particularly gory, but the make-up is excellent AND the ideas are very innovative and different.

I highly highly recommend tracking this one down and giving it a watch!
