Thanks for the tip,I just read somewhere the Fortune Star is also remastered like the HKL?
Anyone knows?
I'd rather buy both of them in the Legendary series then...

What are you waiting for?
Drunken Master is the film that launched Jackie Chan's career and a fun classic.

I've got the Sony edition of DRUNKEN MASTER and the HKL editions of IRON MONKEY and THE POSTMAN STRIKES BACK and I still haven't got around to watching any of them! My as-yet-unwatched DVD pile is pretty enormous these days.

It was actually Snake In The Eagle's Shadow that gave Chan initial box-office success and subsequently, DM further consolidated the man's position as the next big thing on the Kung Fu movie scene. Timeless efforts the both of 'em!

I'm the same for yet-to-view DVD and BR acquisitions and DM is an immediate must-see along with IM. TPSB is worth a watch but not an essential purchase imo and anybody expecting a solid Chow Yun Fat outing will be sorely disappointed.

I'm contemplating picking up the "new" Hk dvd's of Yes Madam and Royal Warriors.
Anyone has these, any good (pic quality, sound)?

After having neglected HK films (I do still have some on vhs) for years,I find myself being attracted to them again.
Mainly the "HK new wave" titles btw as the newer ones seem to have lost a lot of the old ones' magic it seems.

I've been searching the web for forums/sites and managed to find a few good ones but seems interest in anything but the classic kung fu films has dwindled over the years which is a shame imho.

I've only got HKL's release of YM (as Police Assassins) and Fox's R1 RW DVD. Great golden age HK efforts the two of 'em with Michelle Yeoh easy on the eye and Cynthia Rothrock less so imo. It's high time the latter film graced U.K. shelves on DVD and/or BR too.

Good to hear you're getting back into Asian action.

I'm guessing the "new" Fortune Star dvd will use the same master as the old Fox/Fortune Star one but it also seems to include the original audio track (not remixed).
DVD Royal Warriors Joy Sales

Same goes for Yes,Madam I think.
DVD Yes Madam ! Joy Sales

Curious if any of these older or new releases are progressive transfers?

Btw I like a lot of Cynthia Rothrock's HK work.

Rothrock's definitely on career-best form in her HK outings imo.

She's good in Shanghai Express and Top Squad (Inspectors Wear Skirts?) wasn't bad but i'd like to see Above The Law (Righting Wrongs) and Blonde Fury benefitting from British DVD releases. I've got the U.S. and U.K. editions of SE as well as the R1 ATL.

Just don't mention those execrable China O'Brien films!
