Arrow's Easter Eggs!
 

Hi everyone,

As some of you may know, throughout the Arrow collection there are a few easter eggs hidden on some of the discs. Whilst some releases mention the addition of Easter Eggs on the packaging, others are much more subtle!

So, here's a thread to discuss any Easter Eggs you have found on any Arrow DVD or Blu-ray!

How many have you found? Come on, spill the beans...

I don't get "Easter Eggs".

Just put them in with the extras or leave them out if they aren't worth even extra status.

Why should anyone have to push buttons and hunt around for disk content? it's weird.

you never know what you may find,some good and some not so good,but its all fun imo!
cant comment on any arrow eggs though,sorry!

Top of my head, there is one on the DVD releases for:

'Slaughter High'
'Zombie Flesh Eaters'
'Blood Feast 2'

I'll have to dig out my catalogue notes, to see what else I have written down

On the second disc of House By The Cemtery, highlight the cross and gain access to a treasure trove of featurettes,like on unrelated movies like Manhatten Baby and Mountain Of The Cannibal God (correct me if I'm wrong), a deleted interview, and a trailer for a period epic!

I believe there are two on Deadly Blessings though I can't for the life of me remember what either one of them is...

Was lookin around for the Easter egg when my PS3 highlighted the Fruedstien grave cross. I pressed enter expecting a funny little interview blooper, but what I found instead blew me away!!

So we get a cool little collection of Italian horror featurettes, which I can understand as this set has all sorts of Italian horror bits and bobs, but what's going on with the Japanese Lady Oscar trailer?

Edit: Lady Oscar is an adaption of a Japanese manga, and stars Catriona MacColl, who's in House By The Cemetery.

There is one on THE BEYOND featuring filmmaker Darren Ward.

I found 3 on the ZFE disc. If you press Up on the Scene Selection you get a Zombie Holocaust trailer and two other things I forget. One is to do with Gino Di Rossi

The interview clips of directors talking about their other movies (presumably filmed in the event if an Arrow Video release) are interesting but wouldn't fit in with the actual content on the disc so Easter egg status seems fitting. They're never that hard to find on these discs anyway

The Cannibal Holocaust one in the Shameless disc highlighting a continuity error is a good one too.

Was that the one where the soldier was poisoned with a blow dart, but is alive again on the boat?

That's the one!

BTW, Deodato mentions on that easter egg that it is the first time he's making it public, but it was already mentioned on the commentary with him that's on the spanish dvd I have (it's probably on other editions too...).

Excuse my ignorance everyone, but what exactly are easter eggs? I've been a collector of arrow dvds since the beginning and have most of their titles. Am I missing something??? Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!

Try this DVD, every single thing on the disc is an Easter Egg! I'm still not sure if I've watched the whole thing.

Whereabouts is the Cannibal Holocaust one?

You have to highlight one of the film reels on the menu. On the bluray anyway.

Go to 'special features' - highlight 'trailer' - press 'right' to reveal a skull - enter for 'The People Under The Stairs Scrapbook' (2:14)

The Funhouse Blu-Ray - Highlight 'Play Feature' – Press 'Right' – Enter For 'Tobe Hooper On Showgirls' – 0.16

The Kentucky Fried Movie DVD - Disc 2 – Highlight 'Gallery' – Press 'Right' for star – Enter for where the name came from – 0.53

'Society' DVD

Highlight 'Screaming Mad George Music Video – Press 'Right' for a featurette entitled 'Screaming Mad Georges Psycho-Fiction', which lasts for 3.54

Special Features Menu - Enter 'Alternate Opening' – Highlight 'Return' – Press 'Right' For Watermelon – Enter For Explanation as to 'Why The Watermelon Is There' - 1.38

DVD - Special Features Menu - Highlight 'Music' - Press 'Right' on the remote - enter for additional interview footage (3.32)

NOTE - I checked the DVD version. I don't know if this is also included on the Blu-Ray version

Go To 'Extras' Menu - Highlight 'Main Menu' - Press 'Left' For Pentagram - Enter For Interview With John Russo Lasting 1.49

American werewolf

In the extra features, go to the 'Trailers' entry - Highlight 'TV Spot', and then press the right arrow button on the remote - this gives an alternate TV Spot although it has no audio due the original soundtrack being missing

Theatre Of Blood

In the extra features menu, highlight 'A Fearful Thespian' and then press left. Enter for composer Michael J. Lewis playing the theme music on a piano (2:52)

'Raising Cain'

Special features – highlight the 'back' arrow – press 'right' for words 'Raising Cain' – enter for John Lithgo on Brian DePalma (1.04)

'Phantom Of The Mall: Erics Revenge'

On the first disc, go to the extras menu and scroll down to until you get to the' alternate and deleted Scenes' option. Press 'right' and enter for a third, slightly different edit of the film called the 'Subterranean cut'. This version of the movie has a run time of 91:17

'Don't Go In The House' (3 disc 'Video Nasty' edition)

On the third disc, go into the 'Extras' menu. Press 'Up' and you will get a couple of full-aperture versions of the film’s original trailer (2:24)

'Kolobos'

Special features menu - Highlight '15th Anniversary Trailer' - Press 'right' for introduction to the 15th Anniversary Screening (3.11)

'Bay of Blood' - 2 disc DVD release

DISC ONE - extras menu - highlight "Bava and the Grindhouse: Joe Dante remembers Twitch of the Death Nerve" – press 'right' and enter for the German opening (1:58) and the UK 'Blood Bath' pre-certification opening (2:37).

'The Last Starfighter' - Blu-ray

1: In the Special Features menu, highlight "Greetings Starfighter! Inside the Arcade Game" and press right for some video game footage (0.48)

2: In the Special Features menu, highlight "Audio commentary with Lance Guest and Jackson Guest" and press right for some footage of Lance Guest at the Arcade Console (0:55)

Apparently these can also be found on the 4K release, using the same method

'Inferno'

On the main menu screen, push 'UP' to highlight the 'X' - Enter for a 15 minute English language featurette where Argento talks about Bava
