It is a great looking film for its age.

While I'm posting, welcome to the Labs R Hunter and Pebble Freakout -- crazy user name!

Welcome to the forums!

Here's the first online review (of the DVD and not the Blu Ray):

And thanks for the kind comments so far! If you guys are happy with the special features then we're happy too!

I'm CHOKING for Arrow's cool artwork.
I find the German artwork to be a beauty in its own right, one of the most striking Geman vhs cover sleeves from the early 80's, but I do sympathize with you considering the price tag of that XT box set

Thanks Nosferatu!

This is actually my first Arrow Films release, and I'm surprised (happily) that the extras are mostly in HD. Is that typical for Arrow? Other UK Blu's I've picked up usually have their extras in SD and therefore incompatible with most US TV's.

It is fairly atypical for a UK DVD to have most, if not all, special features in high definition. I've only come across a couple of discs were all content is HD but can't remember what they are off the top of my head.

The extras on the Dawn Of the Dead blu-ray were in standard def but the ones on the blu-ray for Day Of The Dead were HD (the extras on the 2nd dvd in the Day set and the dvds in the Dawn set were also standard def and PAL so there would be a problem for most people in the U.S. watching them.

Thanks for the info. Import DVDs are usually less of a problem because reliable all region DVD players (that also convert PAL) are pretty cheap and easy to find. Region free Blu-ray players on the other hand are not... I was on a waiting list for a Momitsu for almost five months before the order was finally canceled. Looking at the Sherwood now, but otherwise trying to make do with my region A player.

Regardless, I'm loving this Blu of City of the Living Dead.
