Bay of Blood has as much in common with Friday the 13th as Cannibal Holocaust has in common with The Blair Witch Project - i.e. nothing. Loops is correct, two of the murders from Bay of Blood are seen in Friday the 13th Part II, but that film was not made by Sean Cunningham.

Having interviewed Sean and asked him straight up about this he said that he never discovered Bava's work until the mid 1980s when he was at a film festival. He is now a fan of them but his agenda making Friday the 13th was to rip on Halloween - and if you look at the final half hour of Friday the 13th and the final half hour of Halloween this is perfectly evident (i.e. killer won't die/ heroine hides in a closet/ final pay-off etc).

The complete lie that Friday the 13th is based on Bay of Blood can only come from those who have not seen both films.
