A 'missing reel' scene would be great as an extra feature or Easter Egg but I think some digital tinkering would be the best way to get around any BBFC enforced cuts.

I don't even think it would good as an extra feature or easter egg. Digital tinkering is the best option.

Does anyone have the Platinum DVD? How was it re-framed?

On the UK DVD, which contains both cuts, the scene is missing from the Italian cut, but is intact on the US version (which was not submitted to the bbfc): vlcsnap-2010-09-16-15h58m17s144.jpg vlcsnap-2010-09-16-15h58m21s182.jpg vlcsnap-2010-09-16-15h58m26s226.jpg vlcsnap-2010-09-16-15h58m31s21.jpg |

Isn't there a close of up of it though? Where you see the little blighter wriggling as the needle goes through it? Or is that another film?! |

Can the pin be taken out digitally? so we just see the lizard squirming?....I think the irony here that with the cut the father is shown to give the girl an almighty slap for no reason!....child abuse fine lizard abuse NO! |

I don't mind the pinned Lizard being pixellated or 'fogged' out of focus as opposed to having the offending footage removed entirely. The most palatable way to go imo. |
