If only he hadn't passed on and Arrow could have secured a commentary with David Hemmings Eyebrows. Surely they must have some wild tales to tell.

Great news on the uncut status of this one, and a fine looking package too.

Looking forward to watching this in HD.

I'm guessing this isn't getting released in November?

Can we assume that the scenes where there is no English soundtrack that were presented in Italian with English subs on the AB dvd will all be present and correct on this Bluray ?

Or at the very least that there will be a branching option to choose whether to view the film with or without them

Great news on this getting through uncut! Nice one, Arrow. My favourite Argento gettiong the deluxe treatment, can't wait!

I know there's some controversy over the longer cut of the film, but I prefer it. It adds more character development and I don't think it ruins the pacing at all. But that's just me!

I don't really understand the "controversy" regarding the longer cut, it's the original Italian version. Foreign distributors cut 20 minutes or so of footage for the "export" cut, which IMO change the film drastically, for the worse. We miss out on pretty much all interaction between the two main characters, and a few other important bits.

I understand some people may be used to the shorter cut, and want to have it on the BD, but what I don't really understand is the negative comments about Arrow presenting the original cut of the film. Surely, if only one cut is presented, the original cut of the film should be it.
During these past weeks, we were discussing the impact of a sequence a few seconds long (which to me it's inclusion was important, at the very least as a matter of principle, since I believe a cut is a cut, no matter how small). And now suddenly missing out on over 20 minutes of footage is somehow prefable?

I don't get it either. I'm all down for the Italian Cut and can't say I'm particularly interested in the US cut now. It'd be okay as an extra but I'll always watch the Italian and I can't see not having it as being a deal-breaker for the vast majority.

I cannot fathom why anyone wants a butchered version of Deep Red either!

The old USA cut is considered an abomination by Dario himself. The long Italian cut is the ONLY version he considers to be worthy.

The post where someone said they weren't buying this unless it is the old shredded up version boggles my mind!! That version is the vision of moronic English language distributors.
