Tough call. Very very tough call. Can't choose between The Beyond and City... |

I LOVE The Beyond, but City of the Living Dead is my fave. The atmosphere and sense of dread is electric! Name me a film where you've seen such a claustrophobic burial..... House by the Cemetery is also great, but is not a patch on either of the above....

As I posted elsewhere, I'm old enough to have seen them all on release in the cinema, and THE BEYOND is just soooo good seen in a late night showing with a crowd who don't really know what to expect(god, those were the days) CITY and HOUSE are close behind, and should be on your shelves no question, so for me THE BEYOND gets the gold.

OK, having finally gotten around to watching the Arrow BD of City Of The Living Dead, I have concluded that the best of the three is The Beyond. City... is a great film and has some superb ideas (the notion of fear itself being key to the opening of Hell and the materialisation of the demons/zombies etc) but it is just too clumsy and derivative and too much remains un(der)developed. I think The Beyond is far more successful as a film. Love them both though. |

This was a tough call. A few years ago it would have been The Beyond but I've really grown quite fond of City Of The Living Dead and House By The Cemetery. I went with HBTC but tomorrow it may be City Of The Living Dead. |

have picked TB today, it is just one of the oddest films ive seen. City was the first Fulci i saw, so itl always retain a special place in my memory. HBTC is my "guilty" pleasure it seems. though i dont think of these as a trilogy...cough cough Ripper cough cough anyone agree? |
