hmmm, it looks like a first draft to me. I mean, it looks like a pretty rough ink sketch, and you can see the pencil shading blurred in Photoshop (possibly). That's enough of me bitching about cover art anyway... I'll probably get this, i'm intrigued to see the colour version . . .

Default borders

i am getting tired of the white border window boxes , white just does'nt suit a lot of the artwork, i am no fan of steelboxes as they dent and scratch far too easily but the one for king of new york allows the artwork to breathe.
Now i am a fan of zornow but his fz artwork is crap, looks like he could'nt be arsed which is a shame when this forum has great artists like slippery jack and captain vic who could easily put that cover to shame. As for the choice of films its like someones promised you something special for tea and you find out it's dinner times left overs reheated whoopy doop. rant over

Default I like the white boxes.

So many people hating the white boxes. I love them! Sets them apart from every other blu-ray/DVD in the collection. Only really want Demons 1&2 and House by the cemetery. But will buy KoNY and FZ.

Totally agree with this. There are a few original bits of art that I'm not fond of, but this one is the only one so far that I'd say is really poor. It's incredibly dull and there's too much empty space. Arrow really need to give everyone a chance, like the guys you mentioned who make great art. They obviously can't just go to the usual suspects every time.

If I were a casual BD browser that cover would put me off, I'd have to think the film itself is rubbish with useless art like that.

I've never seen the film. Watched the trailer on youtube the other day.....and it DOES look rubbish i'll still get it though, see if I change my opinion.

2year old? Sure It's not great art, but I can't even draw that good, and I'm fast approaching 40!

Forbidden Zone is far from rubbish, it's a brilliantly original comedy with some surrealism so out there you would have to be mad to understand what the heck was going on.
The cover is extremely underwhelming, an amalgamation of multiple scenes in the movie that really looks off. Looking forward to seeing the reverse panels though.

Indeed. At lesat there'll be other panels to choose from.

My comment about a 2 year old was just a turn of phrase. I was just trying to say it looks a bit amateurish. No offence to the artist intended, I'm sure they're very nice, but this has to be far from their best work, surely? Doesn't look like much thought or effort has gone into it.

When I first read Forbidden Zone I thought it was Space Hunter Adventures in the Forbidden Zone!
