Yeah, I originally was going to go for the standard blu ray until I saw this announcement. Luckily I was able to cancel that and re-order it again as the steelbook version.

Good point, but previous copies I've owned didn't have this horrible grain. I don't think it's natural, maybe it's shown up in the contrast boosting, but like you said, I'd rather some scenes have too much grain and the rest look good, then no grain.
