I found when I watched the special features on the Arrow blu i needed the remote in my hand as I found when it showed clips of the film, the sound was a lot louder then the interviews

Arrow now need to look at their authoring staff and decide if more expert minded people should be brought in.............i know of one personally and he would i think have no problem helping out.

PS
Can anyone tell me by PM if necessary why Arrow left this forum?
Finally, the actual issue. There will be folks who are annoyed about this and those that aren't and it looks like as though that wont change much. Might be more constructive to look at what might be a acceptable resolution.

I would agree that Arrow probably don't have the funds that others have but does that excuse them for ignoring the problem? Are there problems with quality control?

For me, the release looks great and I'm happy with that but it's not to say I don't understand why others don't feel the same.

As is being echoed repeatedly around here it isn't what's missing. It's that it is missing. Take one of Arrows next releases the Black Sunday disc. Ive only recently had the pleasure of watching this and it's simply a beautiful film to look at. Now there are simply numerous scenes throughout that have no bearing whatsoever on the narrative of the film. In fact if five seconds of a horse and carriage going by in eery slow motion got accidentally cut, im not sure many would ever pick up on it. But the point is it would be a nice scene missing. I suppose what im gerting at is this is film. It's not like a book where accidentally missing a few lines or even pages (depending on what you're reading) is going to necessarily matter. It's a visual medium and if six missing seconds of a boat is happily ignored now, what could wind up happening in future releases. Have I made any sense?

Definitely. It's a fact since The Beyond.

Greetings!

Surely checking the final running time against the original negative would have avoided this? You'd think that'd be a standard check once the first disc had been printed?

This is what i am getting at, there are people willing to help out for future releases and what safeguards are Arrow putting into place to prevent any future Authoring mistakes. QC on a few of there releases has been sub par but mind lets face it even bigger studios get it wrong........no excuse i know but these are the questions Arrow should be answering as people are paying a good price for their product and quite rightly are feeling short changed.
