OK so I'm an aspiring Horror Director; have been making Short Films since I was 10. To cut a long story short, a few years ago I decided to attempt a homage to my beloved Giallo genre. That was SLASH HIVE (aka SIX DEATHS IN A WASP'S EYE);
which you can see here:
...We screened it around the place, various festivals, even got a plug on XFM by Alex Zane, who really liked it.
SLASH HIVE was shot in one day on bugger all money, so the following year (2008) we decided to ramp it up a few notches, and I made NEON KILLER,
which you can see here:
So anyway, the awesome peeps behind CINE-EXCESS 3 invite Maestro Argento and Claudio Simonetti to London this weekend to present them with a lifetime achievement award. After the Q+A, I wasted no time in presenting them both with a specially designed copy of my Giallo Short films, which also included the awesome Giallo Short - THE INCURSION - by Giles Edwards, which you can see here:
Dario was totally friendly, slapped me on the back and said "Neon Killer! Good! I watch!!"....
Which pretty much made my year..........
MASSIVE THANKS to Xavier Mendik and his gang from Brunel University for making this day so Awesome. The lectures were fantastic too, particularly Kim Toft Hansen's examination of Lucio Fulci's THE BEYOND.

I think it's easy to tell that it and "Neon Killer" the film were cut from the same aesthetic cloth. It's been terrific having some good constructive feedback from fellow aficionados like yourselves.
