Been reading Cannibal - The History of the People Eaters. Somewhat academic in tone, it' insistence in overly stressing that it isn't trying to dwell on the "sensational" aspects.

Bugger!!

Also reading an old copy of Movie Collector from 94 that I unearthed whilst looking for something else. Featuring an article about The Wicker Man, which is probably why I bought it?? Some great reviews ( Brad Stevens cough) pull nae punches in tis pre dvd tome!!

I have a tough time getting through his stuff these days, but these old novels are genre classics. In fact, LIGHTNING ranks among my top five favorite books of all time -- no kidding.

Icebound was the first of his i read then Intensity.

I don't recall much about Icebound but Intensity was brilliant. A plot nicked by the French and made into the film Haute Tension.

I was trying to be good but ended up spending £60 on books including Beware the Moon, 245 Trioxin: The Story of the Return of the Living Dead and the Fab Press book Frightfest Guide to Exploitation Movies by Alan Jones.

There was a panel on the Sunday morning at Frightfest for the Beware the Moon book and i managed to meet Brenda Bristols (linzi Drew) and Chris Bailey (Dave Cooper) from the movie within the movie 'See You Next Wednesday' along with first assistant director David Tringham who kindly signed the book.
