1961 - 63 years ago, and the proper Avengers are featured in the cover to the TVTimes This was from the first series of the show, when it was a 'serious spy programme', and the main character was Dr David Keel (Ian Hendry), with John Steed being a shadowy person who was very much in the background The episode being promoted here was episode 10 - 'Hunt The Man Down' - which is one of many that is currently missing from the archives

January / February 1983, and ITV started their 'breakfast television' programmes A lot of the youngsters on the forum possibly cannot understand or accept the fact that 41 years ago, television used to start around 9:30am (with programmes for schools), and would then play through to around midnight, when it would close down for the night (after the National Anthem had been played of course!) This is what was available for those who got up early and couldn't live without their daily fix of the idiot box

1981 - July 25th Radio Times listing for the Saturday night horror 'double bill'. This was actually a triple bill because 'The Telephone Box' was a horror short Personally, I think the real horror is being forced to watch the cricket between the films !
