Last film book I picked up was Keeping the British End Up: Four Decades of Saucy Cinema.

My local branch of Waterstones has this tome in stock and i must admit i've been tempted to snap up a copy. More for info on the genre's '70s output and the book's visuals than anything else.

I'm currently re-reading these two old timers:

Sex and Zen & A Bullet in the Head: The Essential Guide to Hong Kong's Mind-bending Films
Hollywood East: Hong Kong Movies and the People Who Made Them

Both can be picked up ridiculously cheap used on Amazon and offer a wealth of information.
They also venture were most other books on HK films won't go.

Probably my favourite books on 80's/90's HK cinema.

A pretty good volume from what i recall although i've only read my copy once and Bey Logan's Hong Kong Action Cinema is another fine tome imo. Yours truly once owned the similarly-themed book Hong Kong Babylon but said publication was a bit too text-heavy for me tbh.
I like as many images as words to look at.

I like my reading to be informative but also somewhat fun and these two deliver.
Lots of pics as well.

The second one is actually a sort of sequel and has the same unusual size as the first book.
