Currently working my way through the recently updated Fab Press book on Argento, World War Z and I've just picked up the latest issue of The Dark Side, which is a Scream Queens special, plenty to stop me from completing any uni work

Like I mentioned on another thread yesterday, I had a few hours to kill after finishing college before I had to pick the kids up from school, so I popped into the library. Saw this book in the horror section and after checking out the back cover, I decided to park my arse and read a few pages. Ended up reading the first 3 chapters right there and then and got stuck into it last night. If you know who Jeffrey Dahmer was and are aware of his crimes (if you don't then google him, I got into trouble the last time I talked about serial killers on here), then you will understand what influenced this book about a homosexual killer. Pretty hard reading at times, but definitely keeping me gripped and if I don't go out and get shitfaced tonight, I expect to finish it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Exquisite-Co...pr_product_top

I'm half way through reading this at the mo. It's an informative and at times fascinating account of the history of the BBFC and how its decisions were defined by the events at the time. Various writers contribute and it's a balanced view of the good and bad of the Board. I'm currently half way through the Ferman era at the moment. Although it's quite a balanced piece, it still reaffirms my opinion that he was up his own arse. Looking forward to the rest of the book. 71ziPQuU0RL__AA1500_.jpg |

Satan is essentialy the last great Anderson PSI division story. It's all down hill after that I think, until the current run which has picked up SOME of the charm. The Dredd case files are currently up to progs 830-855 and meg 2.27-2.42 and collects some of the poorest Dredd storys. Inferno is present but so is the rather good third instalment in the Mechanismo series. CF 20 will deffinetly be the poorest yet it will all get better after that. Anderson files are up to the mid nineties and are approaching the stagnation period, all the better storys have passed alas. I can live without a fourth volume. Do you pick up the weekly DB? There's a cracking line up at the moment. |
