He did indeed, but it still resembles the book. Don't get me wrong, I love the Shining, its a fantastic film, a great Kubrick film, a great Jack Nicholson film, just a shite Stephen King film.

I probably mentioned it already, but you know what should have been the usual crappy made for TV Stephen King adaptation but wasn't was Storm of the Century. Aside from one brief speed wobble to do with some amateurish CGI, I was totally blindsided by how good that turned out to be...

What are people's favourite King films by the way?

Everyone's gonna turn their nose up at me for this but I think Shawshank Redemption is really great, and so was the b/w version of The Mist. Dead Zone is great and Salem's Lot... Salem's Lot was a big deal for me when I was a kid, and Christine is pretty damn good as well. Honourable mentions too for Cujo and Silver Bullet...

I've lots of favourites, but my Top 5 would be in no particular order:
The Shawshank Redemption
Stand By Me
Pet Sematary
Needful Things
The Dead Zone

And TV movies:

Salem's Lot
IT
Desperation
Tommyknockers
The Stand (also my favourite novel of all time)

Did anyone see King being interviewed on BBC Breakfast News either yesterday or the day before?
