Oh for a Gramaphone! I've got a collection of Queer and Sexually Suggestive British Music Hall I can't currently play as our Turntable only does 33 and 45. £500 with a £150 stylus and I can't play my 78s.

Bummer! Goes to show money can't buy you, err, a 78 player?!

I need a little jack russell type thing to sit next to my gramaphone. Our miniature schnauser just isn't the same!

We've got s Turntable that allows us to play 78's but we need to get an amp and speakers to wire it up separately as pulling jacks in and out causes them to become, to use a technical phrase, bugged.

A Jack Russel would be cool.

Curiously I've got 3 units which play 78's, owing to a biggish collection of the latter (mainly 50's rock n' roll ones). One of them even plays 16's though the discs are pretty hard to find (mostly spoken word or classical recordings).

Not sure how we've come from Bronx Warriors to 78 records but there we go.

Imagine my total surprise when i visited the Newcastle and Gateshead branches of HMV this morning and they both had one copy of the BW trilogy tin on sale for £30 each!

God knows where these items came from (seemingly out of nowhere imo!) as the Newcastle store definitely had none in more or less since the whole short supply debacle began. And the Gateshead outlet only had one tin (in less than perfect condition) available for many weeks before i recently snapped it up for another member here.

Based on this morning's revelation i'm not sure if anymore branches of HMV may now have stock of the BW trilogy tin but i was well amazed when i saw those two copies for sale up my neck of the woods earlier today.

Perhaps some other members here may wish to check their nearest HMV stores again just in case some new BW trilogy tins have now surfaced.
