Spot the mistake in this newspaper advert for a Clint Eastwood all-nighter

SPOILER:
The picture is from 'The Outlaw Josie Wales', but that is not one of the titles being screened

Censorship in film posters

When 'The Howling' opened in New York on March 13th, 1981, this was the newspaper advert that was used

28 days later, and the film opened in L.A. on April 10th, 1981, and this was the newspaper advert that was used

In the interim month, the werewolf transformation had obviously completed, with the victim gaining longer, more prominent fingernails and fangs !

In the UK, we had a third variation of the poster

A rather wonderful exploitation film poster for the original version of 'The Fly' (1958)

"Once it was human... even as you and I" !!

That was what was known as a half sheet poster. They were used inside cinemas alongside lobby cards to promote films currently screening. A half-sheet poster measures 22" x 28" rather than the typical 27" by 41" inches of a one sheet poster.

I don't think it registered before, but 'Alligator' only carried an 'A' certificate when it was shown at the cinema

For the young whipper-snappers amongst us, that it the same as a 'PG' rating today... AND YOU HAVE TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL NEXT WEEK hahahahahahahaha

Yep that might just be the most misleading poster for a film I've seen outside of Asia.

I mean at least the watership down poster shows that it's a horror movie!

Terrible poster. Surprised Susan posts it as her favourite. Personally this is way better.

I grew with the Alligator poster Susan posted so prefer that, think it was supposed to be a riff on the Airplane poster at the time.
