I know it was an '18', but it looks like 'A Company Of Wolves' was unrated when it premiered at The Odeon in Leicester Square in September 1984 !! Would a film be allowed a cinema advert nowadays if it didn't carry a certification?

That's what I though, but I *think* that festivals (or cinema clubs) have to get a special license to show things that are either 'unrated' or waiting for an official certificate
