The white panties should definitely ensure the box is lifted of the shelf and looked at , which could result in a sale.
Clever marketing by Almar, once you see the white panties you can't stop yourself picking it up.

It's my next Shameless purchase this week.

I often buy cut versions of films just to see what the cuts are or sometimes I might buy cut UK versions just in case they have been released uncut by mistake eg recent purchase was The Soldier. Sadly though in this case it was the cut version but when I bought Jungle Heat it was almost uncut restoring most of the BBFC cuts. Terrible film though.

If a film includes animal cruelty then I will always go for the cut version myself.

You say 'uncut by mistake'.
I take it then when the BBFC classify a film and list any cuts then the releasing company dosent submit the cut version to show the BBFC all required cuts have been made.

If a company knowly releases a film without the cuts requested by the BBFC, what happens to the company and the film.
In the case of the film, I know the film is recalled , but is it just a case of making the required cuts and putting the film back out again or is the film subjected to any further action by the BBFC .?
Also what happens to the company for ignoring the BBFC required cuts .?

I appoligise for my ignorance in this matter.

Every now and again the uncut version seems to slip out. Occasionally it's recalled by the distributors (the Maverick Directors VHS of Ms 45 being possibly the most famous example) but every so often they don't bother.

The Platinum 2-versions-on-1 DVD of Profondo Rosso (Deep Red) is a good recent example. The longer Italian language print has the BBFC cut (the shot of the impaled lizard) though the shorter dubbed print has the shot intact, and doesn't appear on the BBFC's website. If the BBFC wished to pursue it they certainly could (providing they're actually alerted to it) but often it seems they choose not to.

From what I've heard there could be huge fines if a company deliberately puts out an uncut version when it is supposed to be cut as that would be illegal. Have to say I have never heard of anyone being fined though. When I asked the BBFC about the uncut Enter the Game of Death, they told me that they must have used the wrong master by mistake when making copies.

Aw, I likes the vintage cover. But I don't mind the panties cover.

Have to agree, reaper, WHTDTYD is well the best release so far. I've posted my thoughts on it in Video Shop Counter, but it is such a classy film!
