I'm waiting for the UK version of OUATIA. I love it but there's so much else to buy I can probably wait for a bit. I almost feel like I know the film off by heart anyway after seeing it in the cinema quite a few times and countless times on VHS and dvd.

Surely West won't be long now....

This is a masterpiecex but I'm really not sure where it fits in with Sergio Leone's best films -- I have the BD but I'm waiting for a time when I have four hours spare one evening before watching it as I don't want to watch it in instalments; it's in one viewing or not at all!

I'm still yet to buy it.. all in good time but I just saw this at blu-ray.com:

The Bologna Cinematheque, through its prestigious L'Immagine Ritrovata laboratory, is going to fully restore Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America and add 40 minutes of original footage to its 229-minute running time. There is no information about a Blu-ray release, in Italy or elsewhere.

This extended version, commissioned after Leone's children acquired Italian rights to the film, is being supervised by the film's original sound editor and will be screened in 2012 at film festivals and possibly in theaters.

Personally, I love the film as it is but it'll be interesting to see.

Same here and, with those extra 40 minutes, it will clock in at a mammoth 270 minutes!

I'm intrigued to know what the 40 minutes will add to the movie. It could kill it like the extra footage added to Apocalypse Now killed that movie.

A question to those of you who bought the Blu-Ray of "...America" - what is your verdict on PQ and AQ?
