I'm a bit hazy on this but if you move the mouse over the drive that the folder was in and right click then select 'previous state' it will list restore points, one of wich should have the folder in it, then move that folder to a usb stick to recover it, not 100% sure about it but worth a go.

I did a post on it in this thread some time ago. Here's the link Advanced SystemCare Free 6/5/4/3 Download Review for Windows XP/Vista/7 - IObit http://www.cult-labs.com/forums/301825-post45.html Btw If you use the regular program to "scan" I'd recommend not messing with the registry and letting Windows handle defrag (from time to time). I just use the optimizing internet and system options nowadays and the privacy sweep/junk files clean. Shortcuts fix can be handy as well. |

Hope it turns out okay, a few years ago I restored a folder after days of trying, I think that's what did it, it's not like system restore it only affects the drive, if that doesn't get it done as a last resort may have go to a pro to get it off the hdd, but hope it's done.

they should be in the same folder, once restore is done they should be the old files in there, but if the folder is empty or unchanged try a system restore point or the software bdc talked about, but if the hdd is full or near full they may have been overwritten, but if they were in the 'my pictures' folder you could do the right click 'previous state' on that folder and see if there is retsore points on just the folder.
