My Space 1999 boxset finally arrived from Network (No.0657), But my Spaghetti Western Collection, that I ordered from Play.com for £9.99, still hasn't arrived despite being despatched on 30th January! :mmph:

That's a bit worrying because mine arrived 2 days after it was despatched. Has it been long enough to report it lost yet so you can get another box sent out?

I checked with there policy ant. it normally takes 3-5 days delivery but they can't track or send a replacement till an additional 21 days have past, So I'll drop a lost order mail to them at the end of the week.

It's typical, I've never had any problems with Play but this particular time, I had them send it to my parents address cause I was away at the time.

Perhaps my parents lied about it not arriving & have kept it for themselves!

Yeah that cover is much better than the UK one

Finally got aroung to ordering the US release of Out Of Sight. Glad they went with the original artwork. Nicer than the dvd cover imo.

I do like that artwork for "OUT OF SIGHT", not sure the movie is quite my cup of tea though!

I caved in and just ordered VAMP! I need me some Grace Jones vampire action!

Paul@TheOverlook 23rd February 2011 09:03 PM

Out of Sight is a great film!

the blob 23rd February 2011 09:08 PM

My brother killed that film for me. He became kind of obsessed with it and drilled into into my head to much!

Stephen@Cult Labs 25th February 2011 12:54 PM

Bought the Optimum release of Night Of The Living Dead in Blockbuster for £6. Despite the cropping, it'll be a hell of a lot better than that abomination on dvd from Boulevard Entertainment!

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 25th February 2011 02:31 PM

The curse of spontaneous buying strikes again! Whilst reading through Stephen King's Danse Macabre, he lavished praise on Wait Until Dark side immediately checked it out on the Internet before ordering it from HMV!

Also, the Dirty Harry Collection I ordered at the beginning of the week came this morning.

Sargento 25th February 2011 03:01 PM

Just had blues delivered

Piranha 3D (£8.99)
Fantastic 4 1 & 2 (£9.99 for the pair)

Inspector Tanzi 25th February 2011 05:00 PM

Night of the Werewolf

I watched the Blu Ray this afternoon (it's been sitting here about 18 months!!!), I don't know what people are crying about, I thought the transfer was pretty good.

I've loved this early 70s UK drama ever since Channel 4 had a rare screening of it donkeys years ago.

The previous UK dvd was fine, but this new BFI Blu ray is stunning.

Great soundtrack too.

Would be interested to know what the a/v is like on Elm Street BDC

bdc 25th February 2011 07:46 PM

I'm planning on watching it this weekend, but I've read it's very good.
Here's a review of the US bd,the UK bd should be identical I think.
Nightmare on Elm Street, A (US - BD) in Reviews > Video Discs at DVDActive

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 25th February 2011 07:58 PM

Nice pick-ups b.

I'm in a Blu buying mood myself - not sure what to go for though! ;)

bdc 25th February 2011 08:04 PM

Not fussy, really ;)

I'm eyeing up BFI's discs of The Innocents and Salo on Amazon at the moment, so will probably get them. Undecided what else to get, though!

Thinking maybe BU's Vampyres... :decision:

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 25th February 2011 08:18 PM

Great haul, b.

You've reminded me that I'm probably the only one who prefers Bordello of Blood over Demon Knight. ;)

bdc 25th February 2011 08:19 PM

You're not the only one... ;)

I guess it could be worse, you both could have said you preferred Ritual.:pound: Now there was a bad film.

 Indeed!

bdc 25th February 2011 08:29 PM

I made a wish list for bd's and usually strike when they're available cheap!

Seems there's a BFI bd sale (on select titles) here?
£6.95

dvd.co.uk DVDs | Music CDs | MP3s | Video Games | Books | Electronics & Memory

You'll have to do a search for the titles...

Bed Sitting Room
London in the Raw
Primitive London
Herostratus
All the Right Noises
Man of Violence
Privilege
That Kind of Girl
Permissive
Magick Lantern Cycle
Other Side Of Underneath
Seperation
Comrades
Bill Douglas Trilogy
Saturday Night, Sunday Morning
Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner
Red Desert
Winstantley

etc

Sargento 25th February 2011 08:33 PM

Hmmm, Did someone mention slapping? Or am I on the wrong forum this weekend!?

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 25th February 2011 08:38 PM

Thanks for the link b - some of the titles are cheaper on there, including The Innocents, shame I just pushed the button on it and Salo 5 minutes ago from Amazon - I don't hang about!

Still, only around £1 or so cheaper (plus it has dispatch estimated between 4-6 weeks!), but still that site is definitely worth bookmarking for future reference - never used them before.

I also have a wish list, unfortunately more things get added than are taken off! :D

bdc 25th February 2011 08:41 PM

Never used them either, but some BFI bd titles are very cheap there...Man of Violence is £11.99 on Amazon for instance and £6.95 there.

My wish list also keeps growing... ;)

Stephen, it is time for the ultimate choice: Ritual or Grease 2?!

My credibility is already ruined by admitting to owning and loving Grease 2, so I may as well admit to also owning Ritual. Hell, while I'm at it, I also own Creepshow 3! :D

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 25th February 2011 08:47 PM

I've just cancelled my Amazon order, as Salo is only £7.95 from dvd.co.uk, so all in I'm saving around a fiver. Nice one mr b! If we ever meet, remind me I owe you a couple of drinks! ;)
