I thought that as the title really doesn't make sense as there is no karate in the movie -- it must be to do with audience recognition and using the title as a selling point. The Kung Fu Kid doesn't really roll off the tongue in the same way, does it?

Sorry to go slightly off topic but has anyone seen the Kartae Kid inspired music video for the song Sweep The Leg by No More Kings? Directed by William Zabka (Johnny), and featuring a host of the original Kartate Kid stars. It's a fantastic song and video.

It was called Karate Kid because the character Dre Parker knew a tiny bit of Karate from being in America and also there's the scene where he's watching Karate lessons on TV and practicing along to it and also the bullies call him the Karate Kid to take the piss too. That's why I think maybe they should call the next one Kung Fu Kid cos he's now mastered the art of Wushu, although people have a good point, it doesn't sound too great.

i have to agree with ant, one of the best films of 2010, enjoyed every minute of it even it's lack of KARATE, although The Kung Fu Kid sounds like one of those cheap ass low budget kids films you find in bargain bins.

Will Smith's son is gonna be a great little actor in the future and Jackie needs to get some serious recognition for this film.

I agree that Jackie Chan was excellent but I don't think he will pick up an Oscar nomination like Pat Morita did in 1984.

i don't think oscar worthy but more serious western roles than the stuff he's been making lately, would love to see him in the kind of role he did for Shinjuku incident but in a western film...

good choice on Night Of The Creeps there Kyle, have you ever seen it?

Brutal Legend has the best video game soundtrack of all time, the only thing missing is a bit of Iron Maiden.
