Just bought this for £4.67, almost exclusivly for Terror and Satan's Slaves (Though I already own the latter). Going through a bit of a Norman J. Warren phase.

What about Dances with Wolves? Hmmm....now there's a BD I need to add to the collection....

Handyman Joe 5th September 2012 06:25 AM

Those rotten, fecking, motherfunkin cants at customs have slapped me with 11 quid charges - for 1 item (Crumb blu ray) that barely cost 20 bells. I will get my revenge next year when I go to New York in Nov and fill my boots at the Barnes and Noble sale. I'm still in the grip of Criterion fever and have added Walkabout, World on a Wire and Kiss Me Deadly since last I waffled.

thought new daughter was a great return to form for costner.

I also rate waterworld, though i'm one of its few fans admittedly. :embarassed:

Paul@TheOverlook 5th September 2012 08:26 AM

I was quite intrigued by that one, will have to seek it out. I really liked MR BROOKS too.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 5th September 2012 05:50 PM

Yeah forgot about Mr Brooks-good turn by Kev in that one.

Dances With Wolves?

Better than tramadol for knocking you out!

I liked the ending! Thought it was surprisingly dark for a costner flick!

Daemonia 6th September 2012 12:08 AM

I liked Mr Brooks too, very odd. Pre-dates Dexter. Very post-modern.

The Searchers - Best of your buys easily.

I've seen Gone With The Wind twice and whilst it is excellent, its sheer length loses it marks with me.

Picked up the 3-disc Hunger Games blu-ray from Sainsbury's earlier tonight.

Susan Foreman 6th September 2012 09:25 PM

For one day (and one day only), I changed my loyalties from Basingstoke charity shops to Purley charity shops, and I returned with:

Tokyo Decadence - Arrow Films - £3.50
Zombie Apocalypse (without the free comic!) - £2.50
Cat Run - £2.99
Red Dwarf - Series 2 - 2 Disc - £3.99
Too Fast Too Furious: Tokyo Drift - £1.50
Jericho* - Complete 1st Season - 6 Disc - £3.50 (T'is a region 1, so I will have to convert it)
Jericho* - Complete 2nd Season - 2 disc - £1.50
ABBA - The Definitive ABBA - £1.50

* - I know nothing about 'Jericho', but it seems relatively cheap, so I thought I might as well take a chance

I really enjoyed Jericho and it is a shame that it was killed off prematurely by the network.

Frankly my dear Dem... at 3hr 53min it's tough job but haven't seen it in years so I'll give it a go.
It's a R1 double sided disc, so I'll watch side 1 then come back later for side 2, the 4:3 transfer looks nice by the way.

Jericho is one of my all time favourite shows, Can't believe CBS cancelled it twice, that's what you get when they only count Nielson ratings.

No Redemption logo on the top :)

From their Facebook:

Major SNAFU or instant collector's item? You be the judge. The initial Blu-ray run of Jean Rollin's TWO ORPHAN VAMPIRES included a printer error that caused the banner "Redemption" to disappear from across the top of the box. The problem has since been corrected, but approx. 600 of these misprint boxes were released into the marketplace. If you received one of these boxes, Kino Lorber will provide you with a new paper insert (contact: contact@kinolorber.com for details).

Because these primarily went out to people who pre-ordered the film, it serves as a badge of honor, indicating who the true diehard Rollin fans are. Wear it with pride.
