I haven't, but my friend Craig has a song on the soundtrack, I believe it's over the end credits, and it's on the trailer - nice track.

The Road is one of the most compelling 'end of the world' films I've seen and the brilliant adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel of the same name. If you haven't seen it, you should definitely rent or buy it on DVD or BD.

Edgeworth 13th February 2013 10:49 PM

1911 Revolution BD from Sainsbury's earlier and Touch of Evil Steelbook. Eureka have them for sale at £14.99. :woot: I guess it's something to do with HMV going downhill.

Picked these up on ebay. Have only seen the Alien set with the separate amaray cases down here, so was very happy to get the UK release, with all six discs in one case, from a local seller.
Same seller also had Inside - thanks again to the members here that advised me on the cut status of the UK disc.

I got mine in store at HMV for the same price not long ago, I was under the impression they were just selling off excess stock anyway so maybe HMV have sold some back to Eureka?

Not a film but picked up the pre-Monty Python 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' 2 disc set from CEX for £1.50, amazing that this is a children's show from 1967, Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and all, they do 'Monster Mash' in episode 1.

Slippery Jack 14th February 2013 06:15 PM

Went into my local hmv with the big STORE CLOSING banners outside. They had signs up in the horror section saying 'UP TO 60% OFF!' There wasn't much left in the section I wanted, but got The Gorgon and The Damned. The guy at the checkout seemed clueless about the 60% off thing. I took him to the signs and he just shrugged and said "Nah, we don't own the company that makes those signs, it's supposed to be 25% off. Do you still want them?":confused::confused:

I did buy em, but left the shop pretty confused. There are cheap looking signs up all over the place saying 50% and 60% off, but they don't seem to apply. Weird  . . .

another one of HMV problems lack of communication, most of the time the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing

SShaw 14th February 2013 06:42 PM

So having given up on my order from Arrow I stopped off at Saturn on the way home to pick up something for the weekend.

A good week with releases on Blu-ray of:

Brake
God Bless America
Savages

Got home to find my neighbour had taken in my package from Arrow (sods law I guess) containing

Lady Snowblood
Lisa and the Devil
Black Sunday

So from having just one film in the too watch pile I am now back to 9!

Oh right, so it's not just Walsall then! Thought I was on to a good thing when I saw those signs - surely there's a blatant trading standards issue there?!!!

picked some stuff on the way home from that's entertainment and HMV. blind buys in vampires, vampires los muertos, tuker and dale vs evil, alien blood and shadow chaser the gates of time. also got Christine and Coraline for £7.50 even though Coraline had no blue cross sticker, has anyone seen it as it was a impulse buy because i liked paranorman.

Linbro 14th February 2013 07:49 PM

Pulled the trigger on a couple of blu's that have been in my Amazon basket for a few weeks - High/Haute Tension and Death Ship. Both are region A, hope they're not locked. I'm pretty sure I checked Death Ship, and it's ok - not sure about HT. Are Lionsgate BD's generally region locked?
Lincoln.

That's what I meant - was looking for an uncut version. Was given the BBFC info by a forum member. I should have said 'uncut' status, not 'cut' status. Sorry for the confusion!

V/H/S and Cabin In The Woods take the prize for most overrated horror film in ten years (CITW's) and most average film of 2012 for me (V/H/S)

The Seasoning House. Now thats a great modern Horror for me.

J Harker 14th February 2013 10:52 PM

Not seen VHS yet, something puts me off. As for Cabin In The Woods it's an awesome film, one of my favourite films of last year horror or otherwise.
