As a proud owner and frequent user of a Panasonic DVD recorder, I can assure you that Panasonic's firmwares/hardware they have a tendency to be a bit finicky and vague about aspect ratio flagging; varying according to input signal and even what kind of blank media is used to record onto.
If Boulevard used a domestic Panasonic DVD recorder for their master, no wonder it confuses different machines using different interface protocols! | No wonder it wasn't the most expensive DVD around! I wonder what my players will make of the disc.
